Welcoming Ceremony & Blessing

Saturday, 11:00am – Gateway Pavilion

We always begin CrabFest with the blessing of the First Peoples.

Local officials and Lower Elwha Klallam tribal members will welcome the festival in Port Angeles at 11a.m. Saturday at the First Fed Gateway Pavilion, located at First and Lincoln streets.

You will be welcomed by the Lower Elwha Song & Drum Group, traditional stories and songs, and a member of the Tribe will offer a blessing on the Festival.

We are honored to welcome our special U.S. Army guests from Joint Base Lewis McChord, representing America’s First Corps, the Bigfoot Brass Band, playing music of New Orleans. We will have a parade at noon. Dress up and join our Second Line parade out to City Pier.

The Welcoming Ceremony is sponsored by the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, Elwha River Casino, and Lower Elwha Food & Fuel.
