The Dungeness Crab Festival partners with local educational organizations to enhance awareness of the natural resources and challenges of the Olympic Peninsula. CrabFest brings together area communities to celebrate different traditions, always with free admission.
Visitors can expect a range of activities including fresh local seafood, educational booths about marine environments, live music, artisan crafts, and more. It’s a reimagined weekend of food, fun, and community spirit!
FOOD
There’s something to delight everyone’s taste buds!
Throughout CrabFest weekend, visitors can indulge in a spectacular array of food, beverages, and live music. The event is centered around the enormous Crab Central Tent, also known as “The Claw,” which stretches onto Port Angeles City Pier. The fun continues along Lincoln Street to The Gateway Pavilion, where festival attendees can experience traditional flavors and atmospheres of the Olympic Peninsula.
EVENTS
It’s not just about the food!
The Port Angeles City Pier bustles with atmosphere and activities all weekend long. Beyond the fresh, ready-to-eat Dungeness crab available for takeout, the festival features live music across three stages and more than 75 booths—including crafts, merchant displays, nonprofit organizations, and food vendors. Highlights include a Saturday U.S. Coast Guard Air-Sea Rescue demonstration and a 5k fun run. Additionally, visitors can explore the Feiro Marine Science Center for a small fee, and might even spot whales and sea lions from the recently renovated pier tower.
TRAVEL PLANNER
Explore the Olympic Peninsula during festival weekend!
The North Olympic Peninsula offers a distinctive travel experience, perfectly paired with a visit to The Dungeness Crab Festival. Located a convenient 2.5 hours from Seattle and Tacoma, CrabFest visitors can make a day or overnight trip to enjoy all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer.
Whether visiting the agricultural community of Sequim just east of Port Angeles, or the logging town of Forks about an hour west, the peninsula is awash in recreational, cultural, and historical places of interest. Additionally, the majestic Olympic National Park is accessible just a short drive from downtown Port Angeles for those looking for hiking adventures with sweeping views of the Olympic mountain range.
CrabFest is situated in the heart of downtown Port Angeles, right on the scenic waterfront. The festival spans several locations including the City Pier, the parking lot of the Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles Harbor, and Gateway Plaza.
