Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival

Volunteer

Ahoy Friends:

Welcome to the 6th annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival, October 13-14, 2007 . Help celebrate the home of the Dungeness Crab by being a Crab Volunteer , as we invite people from all over the world to taste the best and freshest seafood, participate in the Grab-A-Crab Crab Derby, and enjoy the cooking demonstrations, music, crafts and more!

A special thanks to everyone who helped make last year's Festival a great success, and thanks also for your comments and suggestions. We are working very hard to improve the Festival and the volunteer program this year. Whether new or returning, your interest is greatly appreciated and we hope you can join us in celebrating the culture and tradition of the Olympic Peninsula.

The Crab Festival is looking for volunteers for October 13 th & 14 th at the Port Angeles City Pier . Your help is needed Friday, Oct. 12 th for the community crab feed, Saturday and Sunday during the festival greeting visitors, in the Information Booths selling t-shirts, and as stage emcee and managers among other activities. Volunteers are needed before the festival as help in the office and to distribute posters /flyers, and for setup and take down (Thursday, Friday & Monday) as well.

So mark your calendar and plan to join us for the 2007 Dungeness & Seafood Festival. Please let us know if you have questions or would like to talk about becoming part of the great crab team.

The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival would not be the success it is without the hard work and contributions of the many wonderful volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering, please download the volunteer application, or e-mail us - volunteer@crabfestival.org

To all of the 2006 volunteers -

Thank You!

The 5 th Annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is behind us and was that fun! Equally important it was a great success. We nearly ran out of t-shirts to sell on Saturday! Its success of course is in no small way due to our fabulous group of volunteers. A hearty pat on the back goes out to each and every one of you.

Naturally, no huge endeavor such as the festival goes off without a hitch. There were many volunteers who went above and beyond what is truly expected. I know for instance there were a number of you who took extra shifts when I called for more support or were flexible and switched shifts. Thank you for making my job easier and more enjoyable.

It is our intention to do a better job every year so please take a few moments to send us an e-mail and let us know how we can improve your experience as well as what worked this year.

The holiday seasons are coming up and I wish you the safest and brightest of times.

Warm Regards,

Christy Green
