KING 5 News – 2016 CrabFest Boosts PA Economy

Dan Cassuto of King 5 News in Seattle covered the 2016 Crab Festival, highlighting the fact that thousands of Canadians and other out-of-towners make up a significant number of those who attend the annual celebration. The result is a noticeable boost to the Port Angeles area economy. Included in the reel are some nice cameos of Executive Director Scott Nagel and Marketing Manager Charlie Comstock (in crab costume)! (1:55)

CrabFest 2016 Highlight Reel

Patric McInnis, the Cinema & Television Production Instructor at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, had several of his Cinema & Television Production students capture some footage from the 2016 Crab Festival. They then learned how to edit it together into a short highlight reel. It has been featured online and on the local Peninsula Area Public Access (PAPA) television station. Take a look!  (1:41)

The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is the annual celebration of the region’s diverse bounty – the seafood, the maritime and cultural traditions and the breathtaking coastal environment. The Festival’s featured crustacean, the Dungeness Crab, was named after the village of Dungeness, near Port Angeles, Washington. The Festival is located at the Port Angeles City Pier and the Red Lion Hotel overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with Victoria, British Columbia just a ferry ride away.
