You don't just eat the crab, you "Grab the Crab!" Great prizes and fun for the entire family.  Participate in this unorthodox derby Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm by crabbing from large holding tanks on the city pier using crab snares and bait.  Live Dungeness crab will be stocked in special derby tanks, and festival volunteers will be on hand to show you how to catch, cook and clean the famous crustaceans.  No license or gear required.   A $5 entry will allow you to use a crab snare for 10 minutes of "crabbing" and the chance to catch crab out of the holding tanks.  You can catch as many crabs as you like during you 10 minutes, and for a well-below-market-value fee, you can keep your catch and have it cooked while you wait.   As you catch the crab from the holding tanks, you will be given a ticket that will be entered into a crab pot.  At 5pm each day, drawings will take place for a variety of prizes for both children and adults including merchandise from local businesses, restaurants and $700 in cash each day!
